Flockwise is a poultry farming and flock-planning app. This policy explains what information the app uses, where it is stored, when internet services may be involved, and how you can manage your data.
1. Who we are
This policy applies to the Flockwise Android application, published by the independent developer responsible for Flockwise. Questions about privacy can be sent to flockwise+contact.countdowntodo@gmail.com.
2. Information the app processes
To deliver the features you choose to use, Flockwise may process information you enter, such as:
- Flock details: flock names, bird types, flock sizes, dates, ages, and other details you choose to enter.
- Calculator inputs: feed quantities and prices, water requirements, housing measurements, production costs, expected revenue, and other values used to calculate results.
- Preferences: selected currency, units, and application settings.
- Backup files: information you choose to export from or import into the app, where those features are available.
Flockwise does not require you to create an account or provide your name, phone number, or email address to use its core planning tools. Please avoid putting personal or sensitive information into optional free-text fields, such as flock names.
3. How information is used
The information you provide is used to display and update flock profiles, perform poultry-related calculations, remember your preferences, and support the app features you request. Flockwise does not use the flock details you enter to create targeted advertising profiles or sell those details to data brokers.
4. Storage and local data
Flockwise is designed to keep user-entered flock records, calculator values, and preferences in storage associated with the application on your device. The initial app does not require a Flockwise online account for these features. Local data is not automatically shared with the developer simply because you save it in the app.
If you export a backup, the resulting file is stored or shared according to where you choose to save or send it. Files placed in cloud storage or messaging services are also governed by those services' privacy practices.
Your device's operating system and backup settings may also affect whether app data is backed up or restored outside the app. You can manage such backups through your device and account settings.
5. Internet connections and third-party services
Some features may use an internet connection to request information such as currency exchange rates or other reference data. When a request is made, the service receiving it may process technical connection information, such as an IP address, the request time, and basic device or network information, under its own privacy terms.
Google Play and Android may also process installation, performance, and diagnostic information as part of their own services. Their data practices are described in Google's Privacy Policy.
Flockwise does not need to submit your locally saved flock names or financial estimates to an exchange-rate provider to perform a currency lookup.
6. Sharing of information
We do not sell your saved flock records. Where external services are used to deliver a feature, the relevant provider may receive the technical information necessary to process the request. Information you choose to export or share is handled according to the destination you select. We may also disclose information if required by applicable law.
7. Advertising and analytics
The initial Flockwise release is intended to provide its core tools without in-app advertising. If advertising, analytics, crash-reporting, online accounts, or cloud synchronization are added or materially changed, this policy will be revised to explain the services used and the information involved.
Any third-party software included in the installed app is subject to the data practices of its provider; the disclosures here and on Google Play must accurately reflect the version of Flockwise you install.
8. Data retention and deletion
Records stored only on your device normally remain there until you delete them within the app (where deletion is provided), clear the app's storage, or uninstall the app. Uninstalling may not remove copies you previously exported or backups maintained by your device or cloud backup services.
To remove locally stored app records, use any available in-app deletion controls or your device's app-storage controls. To delete an exported backup, remove it from wherever you saved it. If you have questions about data held by the developer, contact us using the email below.
9. Security
We aim to minimize the personal information needed for Flockwise to function. Local data is subject to your device's security controls. If the app connects to third-party services, those providers are responsible for the security of information they receive. No method of storing or transmitting information is completely risk-free, so we recommend securing your device and protecting any exported backup files.
10. Children's privacy
Flockwise is intended as a poultry farming utility, not a service directed at children. We do not knowingly seek personal information from children through the app. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us so we can review the issue.
11. Your choices and privacy rights
You can choose what optional flock information to enter and can manage data stored on your own device. Depending on applicable law, you may also have rights to inquire about, access, correct, or request deletion of personal data a developer actually holds. Contact us to make an inquiry. We cannot access or delete records that exist only on your device.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when Flockwise's features, service providers, or legal obligations change. The effective date at the top of the page will be revised when changes are published. Material changes will be communicated where required by law.
