IG Reels Toolkit is a Chrome extension designed to improve the Instagram desktop video and Reels viewing experience by adding features such as video duration, progress controls, playback speed controls, skip buttons, mute controls, keyboard shortcuts, and a draggable floating panel.
Information We Collect
IG Reels Toolkit does not collect, store, sell, or transmit personal information.
The extension does not collect your Instagram login details, messages, comments, browsing history, profile information, or content from your account.
Information Used Locally
To provide its features, IG Reels Toolkit reads basic video information directly in your browser while you are using Instagram, such as:
- Video duration
- Current playback time
- Playback speed
- Mute status
- The current Instagram page URL when you use the copy link feature
This information is used only inside your browser to operate the extension’s visible features. It is not sent to any external server.
Settings Storage
IG Reels Toolkit uses Chrome storage to remember your extension preferences, such as:
- Whether the overlay is visible
- Whether control buttons are enabled
- Keyboard shortcut settings
- Skip duration
- Floating panel position
- Collapsed or expanded panel state
- Preferred mute setting
These settings are stored by Chrome so the extension can remember your preferences. They are not sold or shared by the developer.
Third-Party Services
IG Reels Toolkit includes an optional Ko-fi support link. If you click the Ko-fi link, you will leave the extension and visit Ko-fi’s website. Ko-fi may process information according to its own privacy policy.
The extension does not send your Instagram data to Ko-fi.
Data Sharing
IG Reels Toolkit does not sell, rent, trade, or share user data with third parties.
Analytics and Tracking
IG Reels Toolkit does not use analytics, advertising trackers, cookies, or tracking pixels.
Permissions
IG Reels Toolkit requests only the permissions needed to provide its features on Instagram and save user preferences.
Chrome Web Store Limited Use Disclosure
The use of information received from Chrome APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
