IG Reels Toolkit is a browser extension designed to improve the Instagram desktop video and Reels viewing experience. It adds features such as exact video duration, progress controls, playback speed controls, skip buttons, mute controls, keyboard shortcuts, a seekable progress bar, and a draggable floating panel.
IG Reels Toolkit is privacy-friendly by design. It does not collect, sell, transmit, or share personal information. The extension works locally in your browser to improve video controls on Instagram.
Information We Collect
IG Reels Toolkit does not collect, store, sell, transmit, or share personal information.
The extension does not collect your Instagram login details, passwords, messages, comments, browsing history, profile information, account information, or content from your Instagram account.
Information Used Locally
To provide its features, IG Reels Toolkit reads basic video information directly in your browser while you are using Instagram, such as:
- Video duration
- Current playback time
- Playback speed
- Mute status
- Playback state, such as whether a video is playing or paused
- The current Instagram page URL when you use the copy link feature
This information is used only inside your browser to operate the extension’s visible features. It is not sent to the developer, to an external server, or to any third party.
Settings Storage
IG Reels Toolkit uses browser extension storage to remember your preferences, such as:
- Whether the overlay is visible
- Whether control buttons are enabled
- Keyboard shortcut settings
- Skip duration
- Floating panel position
- Collapsed or expanded panel state
- Preferred mute setting
These preferences are stored by your browser so the extension can remember your settings. They are not sold, shared, or transmitted by the developer.
Third-Party Services
IG Reels Toolkit includes an optional Ko-fi support link. If you click the Ko-fi link, you will leave the extension or website and visit Ko-fi’s website. Ko-fi may process information according to its own privacy policy.
IG Reels Toolkit does not send your Instagram data, video information, or extension settings to Ko-fi.
Data Sharing
IG Reels Toolkit does not sell, rent, trade, transfer, or share user data with third parties.
Analytics and Tracking
IG Reels Toolkit does not use analytics tools, advertising trackers, cookies, tracking pixels, or behavioral profiling.
Remote Code
IG Reels Toolkit does not use remote code. The extension’s functionality is included in the extension package submitted to the browser extension store.
Permissions
IG Reels Toolkit requests only the permissions needed to provide its features on Instagram and save user preferences.
The extension runs on Instagram pages so it can detect visible HTML5 video elements, read local playback information, and display user-facing controls on the page.
Browser Store Disclosures
IG Reels Toolkit is intended to comply with applicable browser extension store policies, including privacy and limited-use requirements for browser APIs. Information accessed through browser APIs is used only to provide the extension’s stated video control features.
Children’s Privacy
IG Reels Toolkit is not designed to collect information from anyone, including children. The extension does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
